NFL Week 5: Broncos @ Ravens
Denver Broncos @ Baltimore Ravens Sun. Oct. 10th 1pm EST
There are only a few teams in the AFC Conference that were considered Super Bowl title contenders coming into this NFL regular season and the Baltimore Ravens were thought to be one of them as they made a key addition to their offense with Pro Bowl wide receiver Anquan Boldin. Along with getting a big upgrade on the offensive side of the football, the Ravens still have the lockdown defense that they have become infamous for over the years.

With everything coming together this season on both sides of the football, the Baltimore Ravens seem poised to compete for the AFC North division title and possibly make a run at a Super Bowl title, but they will have their work cut out for them as they do play in one of the most competitive divisions in the NFL with the likes of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Bengals.
Fortunately, Joe Flacco and company came out with the win in Week 4 over the Pittsburgh Steelers and have taken control of the AFC North division for the time being, but they will have to face off against the up and coming Denver Broncos in Week 5 in order to keep their first place standing intact.
Even though the Broncos seem to be coming into their own on offense with quarterback Kyle Orton playing like a Pro Bowler over the first four weeks of the NFL regular season, they will be put to test against the lockdown defense of the Baltimore Ravens as Ray Lewis and company will look to contain this potent offense.
One of the main reasons for Kyle Orton’s success in the passing game this season has been the serious lack of a dependable ground game due to injuries to basically the entire backfield of the Denver Broncos. With starting running back Knowshon Moreno battling injuries and sitting out the last two games, the Broncos have had a nonexistent running game despite making the trade for Laurence Maroney from the New England Patriots.
With the Broncos being no threat to the Ravens on the ground in Week 5, the Ravens will look to put constant pressure on Kyle Orton and try to force the veteran quarterback into making mistakes.

Fortunately for the Broncos, Orton has only three interceptions this season, but I believe that will change quickly against the Ravens defense as they will almost certainly pick him off multiple times this Sunday in Baltimore.
As of right now, the Baltimore Ravens are favored to win this matchup with -7 point spread. Even though the Denver Broncos defense might give the Joe Flacco and company some trouble, I believe in the end the Baltimore Ravens will improve their record to 4-1 as they will almost certainly cruise to victory by covering the spread easily in Week 5.
