NFL Week 15: Chiefs @ Rams
The Kansas City Chiefs and the St. Louis Rams are two teams that no one expected much out of this season as they have been amongst the worst teams in the league for quite some time now. Despite having a distinction of being just terrible teams, this season the Chiefs and the Rams now the turnaround and could quite possibly be playoff bound at season’s end.
No matter what moves the Chiefs have made over the years, they have been unable to compete with the best of the best in the AFC conference or any team in the AFC West division for that matter, but with quarterback Matt Cassel coming into his own and having the best rushing attack in the league with running backs Thomas Jones and Jamaal Charles leading the way their fortunes seem to be changing for the better.

The St. Louis Rams on the other hand took a big gamble on former Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Sam Bradford in the 2010 NFL Draft, but despite having two shoulder injuries on his throwing arm in his last season with the Oklahoma Sooners, Bradford has quickly adapted to the playing at this level as he is almost guaranteed to win the Rookie of the Year award this season.
Along with having absolutely no playoff expectations coming into the season as they could have easily been two more losing seasons for the Chiefs and Rams, both of these teams are in first place in their divisions (AFC West, NFC West) and have a legitimate shot of making the playoffs this year if they can continue to win football games over the next three weeks.
Personally, I believe the Kansas City Chiefs seem destined to win the AFC West division title this season as they are well on the way and even loss to the St. Louis Rams might not prevent them from coming out on top in their division, but the Rams on the other hand will need to win this game if they want to hold off the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC West.

Even though both these teams have played surprisingly well this season and do have potent offenses when the running game is firing on all cylinders, I believe the Chiefs are the better team on both sides of the football and will prove that fact this weekend as they will head to St. Louis and come away with a convincing victory.
The one thing that Kansas City is really concerned about right now is the health of quarterback Matt Cassel as he is coming off an appendectomy that kept him out of last week’s game against the San Diego Chargers. If Cassel is healthy and ready to go, this game should be a fairly easy win for the Chiefs, but if not, the Rams could have the edge going into this matchup.
