NBA Power Rankings: Spurs still the team to beat
#1 San Antonio Spurs (45-9)
No matter how old they get or how many people underestimate their ability to continue to compete with the best of the best in the NBA, the San Antonio Spurs are just rolling right now and will almost certainly head into the All-Star break without reaching double digits in the loss column.
The second half of the season can really start to affect some of the older teams in the league like the Spurs, but I believe they should be able to clinch the top spot in the Western Conference and make a run at the NBA Finals.

#2 Dallas Mavericks (38-16)
Over the few years, the Dallas Mavericks have been arguably one of the best teams in the Western Conference during the regular season and this year is no different. Even though Mark Cuban’s squad has suffered the loss of Caron Butler for the season due to injury, the Mavs are still playing at an extremely high level right now.
Heading into the All-Star break the Mavs are the second seed in the West and could hold that position if they can stay ahead of the two-time defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers.
#3 Los Angeles Lakers (38-17)
The defending champs have had a tough run of things as of late with Carmelo Anthony trade rumors circulating around Lakerland and their inability to beat the best of the best this season.
Fortunately, with wins over the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks they were able to convince most people that they are still a force to be reckoned with and worthy of being ahead of the Celtics and the Miami Heat on this list.
#4 Boston Celtics (39-14)
The Boston Celtics are still feeling the sting of losing to their arch rivals in the Los Angeles Lakers on their home floor in Boston, but they were able to get back on track recently with a win over the Miami Heat.
After beating the Heat, the Celtics were able to reclaim the top spot in the Eastern Conference and could be on the right track in order to win the Eastern Conference title for the second straight season.

#5 Miami Heat (39-15)
Although the Miami Heat after coming off a disappointing loss to the Boston Celtics at the TD Garden in Boston, LeBron James and company are still playing at a high level right now and still seem to be a legitimate title contender heading into the All-Star break.
As long as the Big Three (LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade) can stay healthy in Miami, the Heat should be able to give the Celtics a run for their money in the East.
#6-10 Chicago Bulls (36-16), Orlando Magic (35-21), Oklahoma City Thunder (34-19), Memphis Grizzlies (30-26) and New Orleans Hornets (33-23)
