Over the past decade or so, the New England Patriots have absolutely dominated the competition in the AFC East division and usually have a clear path to the playoffs by winning the division title. This season things have change in the AFC East as the Buffalo Bills have emerged as one of the elite teams in the NFL. Not only have the Bills started to turn the corner and become a legitimate force to be reckoned with in the AFC Conference for the first time since the Jim Kelly era, but they are in first place in the division and could easily win the division title.

With a win over the New England Patriots earlier in the season, the Buffalo Bills proved that they were the real deal and ready to have a breakout year. Now that quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and running back Fred Jackson have become a dynamic duo in Buffalo, the Bills have a legitimate shot to win every single week.

In Week 9, the Buffalo Bills will be tested yet again by a divisional opponent as they will defend their home field against the resurgent New York Jets. Even though these three straight losses were a huge blow to this team’s confidence moving forward, the Jets have been able to bounce back as of late by winning two straight against the lowly Miami Dolphins (24-6) and the San Diego Chargers (27-21).

Coming into Week 9, the New York Jets will be tested yet again right out of the bye week by going head-to-head against a very good Buffalo Bills squad. Even though the Bills are a young team with little experience against the elite class in the NFL, they have proven that they can hang with the best of the best in the league this season and should give the Jets a run for their money.

The New York Jets might have the edge in many different categories like defense, coaching and experience, but the Buffalo Bills have still be dubbed as the favorites to come out on top in Week 9 over their division rivals.

As of right now, the Buffalo Bills are the favorites with a -2 point spread. This spread seems to be right on the money in my opinion with the Bills being the better team this season, but I get the feeling that Rex Ryan will have some tricks up his sleeve this weekend and will pull off the slight upset.
