NFL Week 16: Jets @ Bears
The NFL regular season is quickly coming to a close as there are only two weeks left for teams to try and lockup playoff spots and take their best shot at contending for a Super Bowl title.
Before the season began, the New York Jets were considered to be legitimate Super Bowl title contenders and for good reason as they had arguably the best defense in week in some key additions on offense. Not only was second-year quarterback Mark Sanchez coming into his own as the leader of this team under center, but the Jets were able to get their hands on former Super Bowl MVP wide receiver Santonio Holmes and former NFL MVP running back LaDainian Tomlinson.

With all the right pieces to the puzzle seemingly in place for the New York Jets and an extremely confident and outspoken head coach in Rex Ryan, the Jets seemed like a serious force to be reckoned with in the AFC conference and were ready to give the best of the best in the league a run for their money.
Fortunately, throughout the majority of the season the Jets were able to live up to their Super Bowl title contender billing as they dominated the competition, but it hasn’t gone without a fair share of controversy and poor play at times during the year.
Every single week it seems like the New York Jets have been criticized, surrounded in controversy or thought to be no longer the dominant team they once were. Despite all this going on, Rex Ryan and company have been held to hold their own and will come into Week 16 on the verge of clinching a playoff spot if they can get the best of the NFC North division champion Chicago Bears.
Even though the Chicago Bears from basically have nothing to play for besides positioning in the playoffs, this game between arguably two of the best defenses in the NFL will be a dogfight start to finish with a low score determining the victor.

The one thing to watch for in this game will be the Jets offense going up against the Bears lockdown defense. If Mark Sanchez and company can pull it together and put points on the board against this stingy defense, then I believe they will come out on top and be playoff bound once again, but beating this Bears defense is no easy task in the Jets will definitely work cut out for them.
So the big question in this matchup will be whether or not the Chicago Bears defense will show up in Week 16 and whether or not head coach Lovie Smith is ready to rest some of his best players on both sides of the football.
Personally, I believe the New York Jets should come out on top in this one as they know what is on the line coming into this week.
