NFL Power Rankings Week 9

#1 New England Patriots (6-1)

Coming into this NFL regular season, not many people expected much from the New England Patriots this season as the consensus was that it might be the beginning of the end of the Tom Brady/Bill Belichick era, but they have proved their doubters wrong and shown that they are still amongst the best of the best in the NFL.

#2 Baltimore Ravens (5-2)

As one of the few teams with Super Bowl aspirations in the AFC Conference this season, the Baltimore Ravens were considered to be a very dangerous team as they had arguably one of the best offenses and defenses in the league.
Even though they have looked shaky at times during the season, they are sitting atop of the AFC North division coming into Week 9 and look like they could be headed for a division title and a run at the Super Bowl in February.

#3 Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2)

Last season the Pittsburgh Steelers failed to live up to expectations in their Super Bowl title defense as their defense fell apart without perennial Pro Bowl safety Troy Polamalu (knee), but this season they have been able to get back on track and become a legitimate force to be reckoned with in the AFC Conference once again.
They will have their work cut out for them against the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North division, but if they can get a win in Week 13 over their division rivals they will get some much needed momentum.

#4 New York Jets (5-2)

The New York Jets may be coming off a disappointing loss against the Green Bay Packers in which they were shutout, but I believe Rex Ryan’s squad is the best in the league and will steadily climb up these rankings while making a case as a legitimate Super Bowl title contender in the AFC Conference.
They will have their work cut out for them against a very good New England Patriots team in the AFC East division. The New York Jets do have the edge right now with one win over Tom Brady and company already, but they will need to keep winning football games, especially when they face off against their division rivals once again in Week 13.

#5 Indianapolis Colts (5-2)

The Indianapolis Colts may have come into this NFL regular season as the favorites to win the Super Bowl at season’s end, but they have noticeably struggled over the first seven games of the season as they will head into Week 9 with two losses on the year.
Last week they were able to get a big win on Monday Night Football against the Houston Texans and jump to first place in the AFC South division ahead of the Texans and the Tennessee Titans.

#6-10: Atlanta Falcons (5-2), New York Giants (5-2), Green Bay Packers (5-3), Tennessee Titans (5-3), New Orleans Saints (5-3)
