NFL Week 14: Chicago Bears @ Denver Broncos
Chicago Bears @ Denver Broncos Sun. Dec. 11, 2011 4:05 p.m. EST
With six wins in this first seven starts as the Denver Broncos starting quarterback, Tim Tebow has begun to quiet his critics as it has become clear that he has obviously given the Broncos a better chance of winning every single week when he is under center. Not only have Tebow got it done on the ground this season with some impressive runs and multiple touchdowns at key moments, but he is starting to come on strong in the passing game after coming off his best passing performance in the win over the Minnesota Vikings.

Now that Tim Tebow has created some much-needed chemistry with up-and-coming wide receivers Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas, the Denver Broncos offense has started to become a force to be reckoned with. One part of the Broncos game plan that has flown under the radar since Tebow fever struck the Mile High City has been the defense and rookie Von Miller. With the defense being amongst the best in the league this season, the Broncos have hope for the future on both sides of the football and could be playoff bound this season as a result.
Coming into Week 14, the Denver Broncos share first place in the AFC West division with the arch division rival Oakland Raiders. With the Raiders almost certainly in for a loss against the undefeated Green Bay Packers this week, Tim Tebow and company have a great chance of moving ahead of their division rivals and getting one step closer to clinching the division title and finally getting back into the playoffs.
Despite the Denver Broncos winning five in a row, this up-and-coming team hasn’t faced a tough defense since going up against the New York Jets earlier in the season. With that being said, the Chicago Bears might be able to contain Tim Tebow and company this week as they depend solely on their defense to win football games at this point with franchise quarterback Jay Cutler out with a broken thumb.
Backup quarterback Caleb Haine will also be facing a tough test this week in the form of the three-headed monster in the Mile High City with Champ Baily, Elvis Dumervil and rookie Von Miller coming after him this weekend. With Haine not exactly living up to expectations right now, the Bears offense has seriously suffered and been completely ineffective ever since Cutler went down.

With that being said, this game will almost certainly be a battle of defenses with Brian Urlacher and Elvis Dumervil being the stars trying to lead their teams to victory. The Bears defense has been dominant for quite some time, but I believe the Broncos will make a big statement with their sixth straight win.
As of right now, the Denver Broncos are favored to get the win at home this week with a -4 point spread. This sounds just about right in my opinion as the Broncos should keep rolling.
Take the Broncos at -4.
