NFL Week 2: Texans @ Redskins
Houston Texans @ Washington Redskins
Last week the Houston Texans and the Washington Redskins sent shockwaves throughout the entire NFL as they pulled off arguably the two biggest upsets in Week 1 by beating their division rivals and Super Bowl title contenders in the Indianapolis Colts and the Dallas Cowboys.

These two wins were unexpected to say the least, but it is always hard to predict how a division rivalry game will pan out, especially when neither the Texans or the Redskins made the playoffs last season.
There is no question that both Texans and the Redskins are much improved this season as Houston has finally found the running back they have been looking for in Arian Foster (231 rushing yards and three touchdowns) and Washington has added a two-time Super Bowl champion head coach in Mike Shanahan and a six-time Pro Bowl quarterback in Donovan McNabb.
Even though these two teams have gotten some major upgrades, the consensus was they still had another season of disappointment ahead of them, but after Week 1’s wins over the Colts and Cowboys, things are starting to look up for these teams.

In Week 2, these to up and coming NFL franchises will go head to head in the nation’s capital as both teams try to start to the season with a 2-0 record.
As of right now, the Houston Texans are favored to come out on top in this Week 2 showdown with -2.5 point spread, but with the Washington Redskins impressive play on both sides of the football last week against the Dallas Cowboys, I believe anything can happen and will happen in this football game.
If I had to make a decision about which team I believe is the better all around team I would have to go with the Houston Texans as they have arguably one of the best offenses in the league, especially with running back Arian Foster coming into his own last week against the Indianapolis Colts, but with Mike Shanahan calling the shots and a veteran quarterback under center in Donovan McNabb, this game has the potential to come down to the wire.
The big question for the Houston Texans this week is whether or not Arian Foster is an elite running back or did he just have a fluke performance against a very weak run defense last week. In my opinion, this kid is the real deal and just makes this already potent offense that much more dynamic, but that will be determined as the young back will go up against Albert Haynesworth and company this Sunday.

Ultimately, the safe bet here would be to take the Houston Texans to cover the -2.5 point spread, but don’t be surprised to see Mike Shanahan pull something out of his sleeve for the second straight week as he is as crafty as any head coach in the NFL today.
So if Arian Foster and the Texans offense have another big day, Houston should cruise to victory, but if not, Donovan McNabb and company could come out on top in this one.
