Former Patriot Matt Cassel to replace Tom Brady at the Pro Bowl
During this past NFL regular season, the New England Patriots superstar quarterback Tom Brady was without a doubt the best player at his position and in the league all year long. Even though the New England Patriots were able to lock up the top spot in the AFC conference and clinched a first-round bye in the playoffs, they ultimately fell to the division rival New York Jets in the Divisional round as they just couldn’t get the best of Darrelle Revis and company.
Despite losing to their arch rivals in their first playoff game recently, quarterback Tom Brady will almost certainly be named the NFL MVP for his performance in the regular season and is still a Pro Bowler.

Unfortunately, Brady will not be traveling to Hawaii anytime soon as he had an undisclosed foot injury in which will require surgery. This may help explain his poor performance against the Jets last weekend, but it is unfortunate that he will be unable to represent the AFC in the Pro Bowl next week.
Even though Brady will have to recuperate a considerable amount of time before you can get back on the playing field, he will reportedly be ready for New England Patriots training camp.
Ironically enough, Tom Brady’s replacement for the Pro bowl will be his former backup quarterback Matt Cassel of the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Kansas City Chiefs had a breakout season this year as Matt Cassel had his best season away from Foxboro. The former New England Patriots gunslinger led his new team to an AFC West division title and into the playoffs for the first time in a long time. Unfortunately, the Kansas City Chiefs were ultimately blown out by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of playoffs (30-7), but they seem to be an up-and-coming franchise in the NFL and could be a force to be reckoned with for quite some time.

Matt Cassel still has some kinks to work out in his game as he was only able to throw for a very disappointing 70 yards against the Ravens defense, but with a promising young receiving corps led by Dwayne Bowe and arguably the best running game in the league led by Pro Bowl running back Jamaal Charles, this team has a serious of upside and could surprise people in the years to come.
For the time being, Matt Cassel will try and make up for his poor performance in the playoffs with a solid outing in the Pro Bowl which will be played one week before the Super Bowl.
