Tod Leiweke Resigns From NHL To Become NFL COO

NFL COO

Tod Leiweke has just resigned from being the CEO of the NHL team Lightning, all in order to become the new NFL COO. It seems like a good move for Leiweke, as he has brought a lot of good fortune to that franchise, and will most likely do the same in the League.

He started out with the Lightning as CEO in 2010, where the team had four winning seasons and went to the playoffs three times. His functions will be much like what he did as the CEO of Vulcan Sports and Entertainment group. These functions include:

He will oversee business operations for the league and will work directly with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to help make the sport better and more popular than it already is. His business prowess will be a great addition to the NFL, as they start to create bigger and better situations.

We all hope that his success in his previous ventures will help the League reach a new high, whether it is attendance or simply creating better programs from online streaming.
