NFL Week 13: Jets @ Patriots
It is no secret that there is no love lost between the New England Patriots and New York Jets as they been bitter division rivals for quite some time now, but until this season these two AFC East teams haven’t exactly been evenly matched as they will both head into their week 13 Monday Night Football showdown with identical 9-2 records.
Not only will the winner this game almost certainly determined which team is the best in the AFC Conference this season, but whoever comes out on top in this matchup will almost certainly win the AFC East division title.

With that being said, there’s a lot on the line coming into this AFC Conference heavyweight battle in Week 13 and neither team will be backing down to the other as there is so much at stake that the loser might have to settle for a AFC Wildcard spot instead of a an AFC East division title and a possible first round bye in the playoffs.
When comparing these two talented teams coming into Week 13 it is tough to say which team is better as are so many aspects of both these squads that is so much better than the majority of the teams around the league.
Obviously, when you think of the New England Patriots the first in the comes to mind is perennial Pro Bowl quarterback and three-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady. With Brady under center, the Patriots have one of the most potent offenses in the NFL, but even though their offense is among the best in the league right now, they can’t say the same about their defense.
The New York Jets on the other hand have arguably the best defense in week once again this season as they tend to stifle potent offenses like the New England Patriots, along with their lockdown defense the Jets have made some considerable upgrades on the offensive side of the football by adding players like veteran running back LaDainian Tomlinson and former Super Bowl MVP wide receiver Santonio Holmes.

These two key additions to the New York Jets have been just what this team needed to get second-year quarterback Mark Sanchez on track and this once struggling offense firing on all cylinders. The Jets have always had a solid running game and this season is no different, but it has been the passing game that has been most impressive as Mark Sanchez could make a case as the league’s MVP.
As of right now, the New England Patriots have been given the edge to come out on top in this AFC East showdown with a -3 point spread even though the New York Jets dominated them earlier in the season (28-14).
Personally, I believe the New York Jets are the better team on both sides of the football right now and will pull off the slight upset while improving their record to 10-2.
